I work as a consultant with focus on software quality assurance. You might want to have a look at my interview at http://blog.launchpad.net to read more about the reasons and goals of the project: http://blog.launchpad.net/projects/shutter
I am addicted to free software and community driven projects. In addition to modest abilities in C/C++, PHP, Java and some experiences with .NET languages I am mostly interested in Perl (Shutter is written in Perl as well) nowadays.
Vadim Peretokin, promotion, web presence and interface design
I’m an IT healthcare student in YorkU, Toronto. I’m interested in promoting quality open-source software and my work in Shutter includes expanding it’s popularity and interface design. Programming languages of interest are C and Vala.

Great really enjoying it.
There’s at least one serious bug in the program which will probably cause Shutter to be dropped from the Gentoo distribution, and maybe others: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=560426
Debian released a fix on 13 Sep 2015 (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=798862), but it doesn’t seem to have been taken upstream. I like Shutter very much and use it daily, so I think it’s a shame that it isn’t properly maintained.
it’s very great
thanks:)
Enjoying it too.
Hi,
It a wonderful tool 🙂 Just missing two features, select an area-> cut->paste. I could not found a way to do it. May be it is there.
Absolutely the best screenshot tool.
Well done Mario! My compliments…
great tool, enjoying it daily !
Without a doubt, best tool for screenshots in Linux. I was looking for snipping like tool for Linux and i found just that. Would be real great, if some one can port this cropping method to pidgin chat. So that screen can be shared on that chat window as well. Thanks for wonderful too mario 🙂
